Technical Support Specialist

As a Tech Support Specialist, you will be at the forefront of the technology support industry. You will. In many situations, be the face of Pratt Computing Technologies, responsible maintaining the strong relationships we have with our clients and providing the appropriate level of technical expertise.

You will have the ability to create a positive client experience with each interaction, either in-person or on the phone.

We have been a Microsoft Certified Partner since the beginning of the program and have access to numerous training programs. What you will do:

Our technical support team actively resolves desktop and server support issues, network outages/troubleshooting, proactive maintenance/monitoring, and other IT/Network issues that limit a client from effectively running their business due to technical issues. These job duties are performed either remotely or on-site at our customer locations in the Knoxville, Tennessee metro area.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing exceptional customer service to clients in the resolution of technical issues either remotely or face-to-face at customer sites from 8:00am – 5:00pm Mon- Fri
  • Technical issues may be infrastructure (desktops, servers, network devices etc.) or cloud, Azure, Office365, Microsoft 365, etc...
  • Prioritizing tasks based on business need and communicating expectations to clients; escalating issues beyond established skill set
  • Management of workload and ability to work well not only independently, but also as a team member to ensure team standards are met
  • Accurately create and maintain documentation, complying with service administrative procedures, including service tickets, time entries and timesheets
  • Participation in some client Technology Business Review strategy meetings or as Technical Sales Support
  • Manage 3rd party vendor relations/communication with numerous Line of Business Applications or other tech related vendors
  • Occasionally fill in on the help-desk
  • Willing to work late or on week-ends if absolutely necessary
  • As a representative of Pratt Computing, promote and maintain client relationships through high standards of professionalism, personal appearance, ethical behavior and maturity
  • Dependable transportation, a valid driver license and being able to pass a background check are required
  • Able to lift 30 lbs. and maneuver steps

 

Qualifications:

  • 3-6 years of previous Microsoft technical support experience required *MSP experience preferred
  • Experience supporting desktops, W7, W8, W10 and networks

Preferred experience includes Server Administration (2008-2019), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Exchange, Microsoft365, Office365, Azure, etc...

  • Ability to identify and communicate areas of improvement in documentation, communication, and technology
  • A strong desire to be a part of a team, to learn and to grow
  • Effective and professional verbal/written communications to a business audience and peers
  • Must have a reliable vehicle to commute to and from Client’s sites/Pratt’s office
  • Must have a current, valid driver’s license and car insurance, will be compensated for use of your car
